Producer Information

Founded by Vivian Kleynhans, with the vision to change the destiny of her family, African Roots Wine Brands was established as one of the first Woman-owned P.O.C. wine producers in Stellenbosch, South Africa as part of Vivian's mission to transform the local industry in 2005 - post-Apartheid.

With its core brand, Seven Sisters, African Roots seeks to share a story of resilience, together with quality crafted wines with a purpose to support further growth within its communities and impact change.

Today, Seven Sisters is available in The Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, Norway and the United States of America.

A portion of all Seven Sisters wines’ proceeds is donated to the Seven Sisters Foundation (Non-profit Organisation: 246-380).

Seven Sisters Vineyards was borne from the inherent appreciation of premium wine and a passion to serve the contemporary woman and fellow sisters. Paying homage to the Seven biological founding sisters, including Vivian Kleynhans, whose motivation surpasses familial and authentic hospitality to encompass a welcoming spirit of generosity, Seven Sisters Vineyards has focused on celebrating and empowering women and does so by sharing authentic cuisine, inclusive space and accessible wines with its patrons.

Founder and owner, Vivian Kleynhans had a vision to change the destiny of her family. When she was 18 years old, her father lost his job after 25 years of service at the fishing factory in her small home town of Paternoster. This resulted in the eviction from their factory house and their dispersal as they were split up in pairs of two to live with relatives. The family had to leave their hometown of Paternoster.

In 2009 the sisters acquired Seven Sisters Vineyards in Stellenbosch, South Africa; continuing to produce and export quality wines, blended according to the personality of each of the Seven Sisters.
