Sweden is one of our top export markets which has experienced continuous volume declines since 2009, and in terms of exports currently ranks 8th in volume and 6th in value. South African wines continues to decrease in volume on Systembolaget’s shelves. Italy, France and Spain are still growing and South Africa is now in 4th position in volume. Systembolaget has been clear that their strategy is to drive value growth on South African Wine and to align with Ethical trade and Organic wine production.
We will be hosting a seminar focusing on the Swedish market where Wine Intelligence will unpack the market research conducted. This will be followed by a presentation by the South African category buyer from Systembolaget, Nikita Nordström on market trends, the Systembolaget tender processes and will also include a session on Systembolaget's sustainability program by Hannah Helgesdotter Sutherlin.
